You might be actually hungry or your mind might be trying to pull a fast one on you. According to Greatist.com, it's known as "reward pscyhology" and it is more common in people who are new to exercise. If you love the workout, that elation is its own reward. But if you are trudging your way through your exercise routine, you may be more likely to seek an external reward, which may lead to overeating.
Here are 3 tips to try...
- Refuel. We have to eat to live, and stay on track by fueling your body with nutrition that will help it function at its best.
- Stick with it. Yes you CAN stay focused and stay with it. Tell yourself you'll keep up with this workout for at least two or three weeks, enough time to get into the groove.
- Change it up. Not every exercise is for everyone. If, after your set trial period, you still don't find yourself loving the workout, find a new one that motivates you.
