12 years in the fitness industry.
12 years of not always being kind to my body. !2 years of teaching 4 and 5 classes a day, of teaching in every time slot possible, of teaching every format possible -aqua kickboxing, anyone?? -, of teaching my scheduled classes immediately after 2 full days of training other instructors, of traveling to hours and hours to do trainings, of 14, sometimes 21 straight days of teaching, of no days off, of not enough sleep and overtraining, of DEFINITELY treating my body in a way that I would NEVER tell my class members to do..........because inspiring people through group fitness is my joy, my passion, my purpose, my aspiration.
Then....I got a little older. And my body hurt. Often.
Then.........came the PiYo HOME workout. 5+ weeks in. Looser hamstrings. Looser hip flexors. Looser back. Zero low pack pain in 5+ weeks. Looser shoulders. Zero shoulder and elbow pain in 5+ weeks. Looser hips.
Core is tighter. Shoulders are leaner. Zero digestive issues (this is an unexpected and HUGE benefit for me) in 5+ weeks.
Adding more of this format to my life has literally changed the way I feel, in just 5 weeks. Why?? Because my body was craving it. Even if you aren't a fitness professional, I bet yours is too.
My entire body FEELS better. Less impact. More flexibility. Stronger core. I feel taller, leaner, better. It's seriously mind. blowing.
I LOVE being on a continuous fitness journey....tweaking, adjusting, evolving. Teaching Turbo, teaching Insanity, working with Matt, doing more low impact workouts, strengthening my core, working on my flexibility, doing more PiYo....all of it is adding up to a healthier person, FAR more fit than I ever was in my 20's or 30's...and hopefully taking some folks along with me for the ride.
This fall, I'm adding more PiYo classes to my schedule because I want to share this format with as many people as possible.
