•1 delayed flight.
•105 degree heat to 50 degree clouds.
•Two 3:30 AM alarms
•About 15 hours sleep total
•Worked on my presentation while also watching Josie rehearse and take class because Moms are genius multi-taskers :)
•Sat in the audience in tears watching Josie freaking SLAY her performance
•Literally stepped off a red eye, into a car, to a venue, and onto a stage to speak
Every single bit of it was amazing and worth it.
This is what we do, who we are.
There is no "work / life balance". There is only LIFE.
Was it hard? Yep. But I gave my word to be in Philly and when Josie's opportunity to dance presented itself, I knew I had to figure out how to do both. That meant sacrifice on my end. That's what entrepreneurs do. We sacrifice for the greater good. Josie was aware of how I crafted the weekend to be present for her, the Philly audience was aware that my family is my priority. And both 'audiences' knew that when I was with them, I didn't want to be ANY PLACE ELSE.
Because WE SHOW UP.
We show up when it's hard, when it's inconvenient, when we have to adjust and juggle a little to make it work. And we can't half-ass the showing up. We HAVE to be all in.
The all-in, showing up....THAT is the game changer.
The 'there is no Plan B'...that is the game changer.
I share this with you not to be all like "look at me!"...you know that's not who I am. That's gross.
I share it because I want you to understand that whether it's this business, our families, whatever...it's ALL LIFE. And if we WANT something different, we have to DO something different. We have to DO the stuff that others won't. That's what successful people do, that's what entrepreneurs do. We do the hard stuff because we know it's WORTH it.
My body hurts from sitting on planes.
My brain hurts from the incredible teachings that Jimmy, Dave, and Danielle shared yesterday.
My heart is full from the amazing messages I've been receiving all day AND from knowing my daughter knew 100% that she is my priority.
I've got a to-do list a mile long, much like you do. And it never gets shorter.
I've got a choir banquet to attend tonight for Jessy and time to spend with Jenna before she leaves for the summer.
Events to plan with Danielle, trainings to plan, Core de Force form / technique to work on before bootcamp, challenge groups to run, workouts to do blah blah blah blah blah.
We all have a lot.
And you know what? I wouldn't have it any other way. Would you?
This life...these opportunities...the TRIBE that we are part of...it's everything. And it's worth any sacrifice.
We change lives. Including our own.
And that's pretty damn cool. Worth losing sleep over.
