With so many nutrition plans, diet options and even fad diets floating around out there it is hard to know where to turn and what is really the best approach to losing weight and getting healthy. Here are my top 3 tips to making a change for the better...for good!
TIP #1: Educate yourself
Making changes in our lives starts by educating our lives. When we understand WHAT we’re putting into our bodies and make the connection between those foods and how they make us feel, then it is easier to make better choices.
Not because something has fewer calories, or less fat but because it makes us FEEL good -- and who doesn’t want to FEEL good? There is a new book out that is awesome -- it’s called SuperLife by Darin Olien, the co-creator of Shakeology.
TIP #2: Eat food that makes you FEEL good
There is a true power in food -- good and bad choices can be powerful. It is up to use to decide which power we’ll allow food to have on our lives. We don’t need to go crazy when it comes to nutrition. Eat real food and eat food that makes us feel good. When we removed processed foods from our diet -- or at the very least limit our intake of them -- then try to re-introduce them, you’ll be AMAZED how your body reacts to it. Very quickly you’ll be able to pin point your trigger foods -- maybe ones the bloat you -- maybe ones that make you exhausted -- even ones that make you sick.
TIP #3: Don’t diet, it's a lifestyle
If we’re ready for lasting results, then we need to make up our minds that it is NOT a diet - we are choosing a new LIFESTYLE. There will be tough days, there will be better days but it is not all or nothing One off day doesn’t ruin everything. Small, consistent changes result in long-term success.
