Driving to Nashville this weekend, Jessy, my youngest #fiercefemale, asked me if I was going to this event, Business Boutique, alone. When I answered yep, she said cool. It was another teachable moment - without me saying a word.
For the last 10 years, my daughters have watched me work hard, hustle hard, laugh and cry hard, show up hard, set big goals and dreams. They've watched me listen to podcasts and audio books and go to live events and take notebooks full of notes. They've watched me accomplish big goals and fall short of big goals too. They've watched get more coachable, and stay in growth mode.
And they've absorbed every bit of that.
Moms, our kids are watching us. I believe what my girls see me do every day impacts them FAR more deeply that we can ever imagine.
I believe it's part of why Jenna could get a job and move to NYC on her own at 22. Why Josie could do so many ballet summer intensives on her own, and now figure out a new path for her life, on her own. Why Jessy can step into room after room to share her heart through singing, on her own.
I don't know if I was that brave when I was their age.
But they didn't know me then.
They know me NOW.
They see me work so freaking hard to get better in some way every day and not let fear get in my way.
They are a legacy worth building. They are worth all the hustle and work and tears and joy. Because they're watching. And I want them to be so proud, of me, and more importantly, of what THEY can do.
Moms, don’t ever let fear hold you back. Be brave, not for you...but for THEM. 💕💕💕
