And just like that, yesterday morning, Day 80 was done. I have officially completed Autumn Calebrese's test group for her new program, 80 Day Obsession!
Confession:: when I finally embraced the simple act of doing our programs START TO FINISH and pressing play every day - even if I still teach classes and do trainings - EVERYthing changed. *I* changed.
My CORE beliefs about fitness:
1. Options = consistency = success
2. Low impact does NOT mean low intensity. Killer results come from FORM and TECHNIQUE and INTENSITY.
3. Everybody needs a PLAN
4. Everybody needs a TRIBE.

▪️ I proved to myself that yep, I can work out at 12:30pm every day.
▪️ I proved to myself that I can change my nutrition.
▪️ I proved to myself - AGAIN - that everything starts with fitness and when my fitness and nutrition are dialed in, most everything else on life feels better.
Loads of thanks to Autumn Calabrese for creating this program, for pouring her heart, her time, her sweat, her passion into this program and into US in the test group, for patiently answering questions, and for walking with us every step of the way as we trusted this process and GOT RESULTS.
I may not have a 6 pack abs or bountiful booty...but I feel stronger and leaner than I've felt in a long time...and I'll take those results any day. AND FAR MORE IMPORTANT :: my daughters saw commitment in action. I committed to something, and followed through. Even when it was inconvenient. That's big.
So now what?? On Day 81 and 82 and 83 and so on, I get up and press play and drink a shake and share my passion and results with others. It may have been an 80 day "program"....but I'm in this for life because we have solutions that WORK.
This isn't just what I "do".
This is who I am.

For the past 9 years specifically though, my team and I have been connecting people with solutions that work THROUGH fit groups, also known as Challenge Groups. Sparta Nation has been "doing" challenge groups long before they were a "thing". We just knew that marrying fitness AND nutrition AND community AND a coach as a resource was a winning combination. So we did it.
And it does not matter how many groups I've run, or how many I'll run in the future. I mentor ONE group at a time and this group right here....well, it's special to me. In 9 years, I've had 2 or 3 groups of folks who are just special...and this #fiercefit tribe is one of them.
They are moms and dads, husbands and wives, sisters and brothers.
Some work full time OUTside the home, some INside the home. Some are NEW to fitness. Some are marathoners. Some want to make fitness their full time gig. Some want a way to engage with grownups that don't require a diaper change. Some just want to stay accountable to their fitness journey. Some want to use our group as motivation to get to the next level.
All of them inspire me on the daily.
They make fitness and health a priority. And every time they press play and drink a shake, they show their families that fitness is important. That THEY are important. They know they are more patient, they are kinder, they are happier, they are better parents and spouses, they are just BETTER on the other side of their workout and shake.
It's funny. They send me emails or messages telling me "thanks" for helping them.
My life would not be the same without these rockstars and the thanks goes to THEM.
Growing up, I never thought, "I want to be a fitness coach when I grow up". I figured you had to be a doctor or lawyer to make a difference.
Truth is, you don't "have" to be anything but who you are and who God made you to be.
For some reason, God put this love of fitness and people and teaching into my heart...and because He did, I get to cross paths with the most amazing people.
Many have shared their stories with me, but there is always room for more. There's room for YOU.

If we've been friends - IRL or virtual - for any length of time, you know one of my core beliefs is OPTIONS. If consistency is my superpower, options is he sidekick. I believe options in fitness = consistency in fitness.
➡️I was a group fitness instructor and master trainer long before I was a Beachbody coach. Live classes is where I found my passion for fitness and being on the stage, with a mic and the music, is my sweet spot.
▪️ I get my BEST physical AND mental results when I am following an AT-HOME fitness program, pressing play every day.
➡️I love the freedom, flexibility, and science behind working out at home. The variety of programs, the structure of the programs, the experience and knowledge of the trainers...it's all unparalleled.
▪️ I teach live classes too. There's no greater high than watching class members connect with their own power and strength.
➡️I take other fitness classes that aren't (gasp!) Beachbody formats.
▪️ As an instructor, I am doing my classes and my craft a disservice by not taking other instructor's classes. How can I get better if I only listen to my own voice? As a fitness professional, I know plateaus happen from doing the same workouts over and over. Different formats keep me learning and growing.
➡️I am okay with saying out loud that I used to do something one way, and now I know better, so I do it a different way.
▪️ Surrounding myself with really smart people reminds me constantly how much there is to learn and how much I can grow
Options options options. Fitness doesn't only happen one certain way. There are as many ways to fitness as there are people in the world. Are there some best practices, some tried-and-true ways that will get results? Absolutely. One of those ways is having options.
