Sometimes we've got to go out on a limb. Sometimes we have to push ourselves and get a little uncomfortable. A favorite quote of mine comes from DeWitt Jones, he says "Press out on the edge. It's not trespassing to go beyond your own boundaries."
Yesterday, I trained with 40 incredible and courageous folks who were doing just that - going beyond their 'normal' boundaries. They stretched, flexed, and moved outside of their comfort zone, physically and mentally. For some, this was the first time they'd ever taken a live PiYo class. For others, it was the first time they've ever led a group exercise class. Certifications are full of cool experiences that challenge us in lots of ways. There were some anxieties, I'm sure of it. However, you know what? They did it! And you can too.
No matter what is outside your boundaries, go for it! The only person holding you back is you. Press out on those boundaries...and in doing so, get uncomfortable, raise your bar, and feel change. That place where you get uncomfortable?? That's where the magic happens.
There's a familiar crispness in the air that comes each year around this time in Indiana. The air feels clean and cool, the trees are starting to subtly turn from bright green to deep orange and romantic reds. And of course, football is in high gear at the Voris house. Fall has arrived.
